Designer Tom Ford says make-up is a ''key accessory'' as it can help change an outfit.
Tom Ford says make-up is a "key accessory". The designer loves the way cosmetics can change an outfit depending on how they're put on and can "transform" a person's appearance.
He said: "Having worked with the best make-up artists and photographers, I know how make-up can transform. If you take Audrey Hepburn's little black dress in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and change the hair and make-up, you can make it look like the 20s or the 90s. Make-up is a key accessory."
Tom - who has his own range of make-up - says his ultimate look at the moment is a "dramatic, smoky" eye. He said: "I like a dramatic, smoky eye. Rim it with a darker shade, then apply lighter shades on the lid and blend as you move up. The key is to mix smoky tones in, so it doesn't look too 60s."
As well as make-up, Tom says a good, strong perfume is also essential to an outfit. He said: "I don't make anything that smells like a watery splash. They are all potent. I tend towards amber, patchouli and sandalwood notes and I love jasmine."
That sexy smokey look is definitely trending in Hollywood but apart from the normal charcoal black shade, we've been sporting metallics with a hint of that gorgeous rich plum shade too. Click next!
