I'm at 128 Faubourg, Salon by Sothys today to try out their 'My Facial My Way' package. As its name implies, this treatment is fully customisable to your needs, and I could choose from three Sothys techniques - energizing, relaxing or detoxifying.

As I sat in the lush reception area with its pink sofas and vintage lampshades, my La Femme Faubourg (beauty specialist) examined my skin to determine what she'd be working with, then we were ready to begin.

The treatment began with a warm, bubble foot massage, before I was tucked into bed for the facial. As with all facials, it began with a cleanser - first a simple milk-based cleanser and then a purifying gel to make sure all impurities were completely removed.

Then, my therapist worked an exfoliating scrub sloughing off all the dead cells that would have been accumulating on my skin. Letting the exfoliator rest on my skin, my therapist proceeded with a back and shoulder massage. Following the exfoliation, a desquaciem cream was applied, which would remove any black or white heads. Then a steamer was directed at my skin to open up the pores and ready it for an extraction. While most fear the pain of an extraction, my therapist was gentle, and I really have no complains about it.

Being exposed to a lot of harsh environmental pollutants, I had chosen a detoxifying serum with oxygenating properties to revive my skin's radiance. This was massaged into my skin before the Hydroptimale THI3 mask was applied to rehydrate and lock moisture into my face and neck - exactly what my parched skin needed!

With the treatment now over, my therapist finished with with eye cream, moisturiser and what no one should leave the house without - sunblock.

Instantly, my skin felt completely refreshed, revived and reenergised. I actually felt like it had room to breath now!

The Sothys 'My Facial My Way' package is priced RM128 on your first visit (RM200 for every session following that) and available only at 128 Faubourg Salon by Sothys located at Bangsar Village II, 1 Utama and Pavillion.
