The Kuala Lumpur lass who describes herself as an “extroverted introvert” joined the pageant in hopes of obtaining a voice to reach out to bigger audiences with greater influence for the causes that she believes in. As an architectural graduate, she would like to use her influence garnered from the pageant to reach out to post-disaster and poverty stricken areas which are particularly underprivileged and unequipped with basic living conditions.

She would like to bank in on her education to work closely with an organization called Architecture for Humanity to provide and aid these demographic with good and comfortable homes.

Carey clearly was a favourite throughout the duration of the pageant, winning four of the eight subsidiary titles of the pageant, including the ELV Boditude Award, A Cut Above’s Miss Crowning Glory Award, Advertlets’ Miss Social Media Savvy Award and the K-Swim Best Body Award, which she won at a preliminary swimsuit contest held on 30 November 2012.

Judging the girls at the finale were a panel of seven judges, handpicked specifically for the gala finale. The judges were fashion designer, Jovian Mandagie; founder of A Cut Above hair salons, Winnie Loo; column-writer, TV and radio personality, Jojo Struys; TV host, Jay Menon; Executive Chairman of Permaju Industries Berhad, Dato’ Rahadian Mahmud; Associate Vice-President for Talent and Creativity Development of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim and Mr. Wan Ahmad, General Manager of Naza Italia.
