There is no simple recipe for the best wedding – obviously, it has to work best for the both of you but I am of the belief that the most important part is to surround yourself with your nearest and dearest (not just pertaining to humans in this regard!). Newlyweds Kim & Erik had their Boston Terrier, Roxie play a part of their wedding which was held in Malihom, a secret hideaway in Penang which boasted some of the most beautiful scenic views. As real lovers of nature, sports and outdoor activity, Kim & Erik tied the knot amidst their loved ones and right in the heart of nature.

Getting ready before the wedding ceremony and the tea ceremony – the bride’s beautiful hair and shoes.
The couple are avid lovers of sports – as a matter of fact, tennis was what brought them together when Erik got in touch with Kim about coaching a school’s tennis team in KL.

A lovely meeting of east and west – two families coming together – during the tea ceremony.
An adorable shot of the bride beaming while her beloved Roxie looks on. (How awesome is Roxie’s sweet flower collar?)
The newlyweds with their new family.
Their wedding day seamlessly went from the ceremony to the reception at night, which made for beautiful photos, and keeping the party cozy and intimate.
The reception party at night was dotted with pretty lights and set up against the backdrop of Penang at night.
It may be a little cheesy, but my favourite part of weddings are the speeches. I love how everyone’s reactions are captured here, from deep-bellied laughter to quiet tears.

Roxie was very much a part of the festivities.

But it proved a little too tiring for her! (Full disclosure: As an animal lover, I am absolutely smitten with the idea of how Erik & Kim incorporated Roxie into their wedding. I can totally imagine myself doing the same, haha!)
What an awesome idea! You’d still want a cake to cut into, but you’d like cupcakes for everyone to share – why not have both, and make it tiered by stacking it?
Quiet acts of affection are the sweetest.
Erik, Kim & Roxie – a family of 3!
Congratulations Erik & Kim!
What beautiful dreamy shots of pure unadulterated joy and happiness.
